Echoes Of Silence
You walk beside me creeping up inside, Not knowing secretly I'm dead inside. You knew I was lying, I never laid there before. How could I tell you... I've felt this a thousand times before?
And watched the hopeful little spark you lit Be snuffed by truths I dared not now admit. My smile, a mask, rehearsed and worn so well, Hiding the broken tales I cannot tell.
So close we move, yet centuries apart, My empty shell protecting my lost heart. Forgive the ghost that holds your caring hand, I'm trapped in silence, in this barren land.
